International Performance Masters Certification

The world doesn't need
more life coaches. It needs
Performance Masters.

IPMC trains coaches, leaders, and business owners in performance coaching through the Performance Capability methodology — the Trisphereon — through a certification standard that is assessed, not assumed.

The Problem

Anyone can call themselves a coach.
Almost no one can prove it.

The coaching industry has a credential problem, not a talent problem. A weekend course and a certificate do not make a coach any more than owning a stethoscope makes a doctor. The market is saturated with people who can talk about performance and cannot produce it — in themselves or in anyone else.

The result is a profession without a floor. Clients cannot tell the difference between someone who has done the inner work and someone who has simply read about it. And the coaches who have genuinely done the work have no way to signal that difference either.

Performance without capability is a trick that only works once. The coaching industry has built an entire economy on that trick.

Performance Capability Framework

IPMC exists to put a floor back under the profession — a standard that is trained, tested, and certified, not self-declared.

The key distinction is not "can you coach?" It's whether you can help someone produce measurable change in their experience — a result, not a feeling. Everything IPMC certifies is built around answering that second question.

What IPMC Is

A global certification, not a courseA standard that means something again.

The International Performance Masters Certification is a performance coaching certification that trains coaches, leaders, and business owners in the Performance Capability methodology — the Trisphereon — and confirms those who complete it to practise under the Performance Capability name.

It is built around a single annual two-day gathering, three certification levels, and a standard that is assessed, not assumed. IPMC exists so that "certified" carries weight again — for the coach who earns it, and for the client who relies on it.

Capability is not an event. It is an infrastructure. IPMC exists because the coaching industry has never built one — and every serious practitioner has felt the absence of it.

Ben Benson — Founder, Performance Capability
The Framework

Three levels.
One architecture.

The Trisphereon is not a hierarchy — it is three interconnected domains of development. Each IPMC level trains one domain to certification standard.

Each level is a full twelve-month journey. TR1 takes one year to complete, TR2 takes one year, and TR3 takes one year — progressing through all three levels is a three-year path, not a single event.

01
Content
TR1 — Performance Practitioner: IPP
The material itself

Certifies the coach in the core content of the Trisphereon — the models, diagnostics, and tools themselves. The entry standard for every IPMC coach: knowing the method precisely before you're trusted to apply it.

02
Context
TR2 — Performance Guide: IPG
The read of the room

Certifies the coach to apply that content in context — reading the specific person, pattern, and situation in front of them, rather than running the same method the same way on everyone. The standard for coaches ready to guide, not just instruct.

03
Contribution
TR3 — Performance Master: IPM
What outlasts you

Certifies the coach at the level of contribution — building systems and standards that outlast any single engagement. The standard for Masters: shaping other coaches and organisations, not just individual clients.

Application — Performance Practitioner

Start with an
honest application.

Every IPMC certification path begins the same way — with an application, not a checkout page. Tell us where you're starting from, and whether you've been referred by an existing coach or advisor.

Who This Is For

Not for everyone.
For the right person, essential.

IPMC Is For

  • Coaches who already practise and want a credential that proves what they can produce, not what they attended.
  • Leaders who want to certify the same standard they expect from their own teams.
  • Business owners building a coaching offer who need a defensible, teachable standard behind it.
  • People starting over who want to build on a certified foundation rather than an improvised one.

IPMC Is Not For

  • Anyone looking for a weekend certificate to hang on a wall without doing the work behind it.
  • Anyone unwilling to be assessed by people who will tell them the truth.
  • Anyone who wants the methodology without the standard it is certified against.
  • Anyone not prepared to attend in person. There is no remote path to certification.
The Annual Event

One gathering. One standard.Certification happens in the room, not on a screen.

IPMC certifies in person, once a year, over two days. This is deliberate. A credential earned by watching videos on a laptop is not a credential — it is a purchase. IPMC certification is assessed live, alongside the global cohort of coaches earning theirs at the same time.

The event is the single entry point to certification at any level. Date and location are confirmed to applicants once an application has been reviewed.

The Methodology

The Trisphereon is taught.
It is not explained on a website.

What happens inside TR1, TR2, and TR3 — the specific mechanisms, diagnostics, and protocols — is reserved for certified applicants. This is not withheld to create mystery. It is withheld because a methodology this precise loses its value the moment it becomes a free download.

The Path

From application
to certified Performance Master.

Each level — TR1, TR2, TR3 — runs this full path across twelve months. Certifying through all three is a three-year journey.

Step 1
Apply

Submit a qualifying application. Not every application is accepted.

Step 2
Review

Your application is assessed for fit against the IPMC standard.

Step 3
Attend

Two days, in person, at the annual event.

Step 4
Assess

Certification is earned through live assessment, not attendance.

Step 5
Certify

Practise as a certified IPMC Performance Master.

Step 6
Succeed

Build a practice, help clients produce real results, and earn accordingly.

Build a Business

Beyond the credentialCertification is the floor.
Your practice is what you build on it.

Most certifications end the moment you're certified. IPMC is built the other way round — the certification is the entry point to a business coaching practice, not the finish line. Certified coaches practise under the Performance Capability name, inside a structure designed so the work of building a business doesn't fall entirely on you.

01
Standing, Not Just a Certificate

You practise under a name backed by a live, assessed methodology — not a logo you paid for once. That standing does the work a cold introduction cannot.

02
A Network, Not a Directory Listing

Certified coaches join a working network of practitioners applying the same methodology worldwide — referral, collaboration, and shared standards, not a name on a list nobody checks.

03
A Method You Don't Have to Build Yourself

The frameworks, diagnostics, and materials behind Performance Capability are already built and already proven. You spend your time delivering, not assembling a curriculum from scratch.

04
Your Business, Your Terms

Certification gives you the standard. What you charge, who you work with, and how you build your practice around it remains entirely yours to control.

The Opportunity

Beyond the credentialCertification is the floor, not the ceiling.

Certified IPMC coaches gain the right to practise under the Performance Capability name — a business asset, not just a personal one. Many certified coaches build a full practice on the back of the credential. Others use it to formalise work they are already doing under a name clients recognise.

There is also a referral structure for coaches and advisors who bring qualified applicants into the programme. Details are confirmed once your application is under review.

"Certification without assessment is decoration. IPMC exists because the coaching profession needs a floor — and floors are built by standards, not by good intentions."

Ben Benson — Founder, Performance Capability
Proof / Authority

Built on a framework already tested at scale.

IPMC is not a standalone certification body — it is the training and assessment arm of the Performance Capability framework, developed by Ben Benson and applied across individual coaching, leadership development, and organisational performance work. The Trisphereon methodology taught at TR1, TR2, and TR3 is the same architecture behind Performance Capability's existing body of work.

The 52 Principles of Performance Coaching — Ben Benson
From the Founder

The book behind the certificationThe 52 Principles of Performance Coaching

Before IPMC existed as a certification, it existed as a book. The 52 Principles of Performance Coaching is Ben Benson's complete system for client and coachee performance development — the same architecture now taught, assessed, and certified inside TR1, TR2, and TR3.

It does not sell coaching as inspiration. It exposes coaching as a system — the systematic transfer of capability that makes the coach's presence progressively unnecessary and the client's performance permanently self-sustaining. That distinction is the entire premise of IPMC.

This book exposes coaching as it actually works — not through inspiration or empowerment, but through systematic capability transfer that makes coaches obsolete and clients autonomous.

Frequently Asked

Before you apply.

What is the investment for certification?+

Investment varies by level and is confirmed once your application has been reviewed and accepted. It is not published here as it depends on what part of the world you are located in. Contact us for a full breakdown of all three certifications.

Do I need existing coaching experience to apply for TR1?+

No. TR1 — Performance Practitioner is the entry level and is open to coaches, leaders, business owners, and people starting a new direction entirely — provided the application shows genuine readiness for the standard.

How much time does certification require?+

Each level runs on a twelve-month journey, centred on the two-day annual event followed by a year of applied practice and assessment. There is no self-paced, remote path to certification, and no way to compress the twelve months.

What does certification actually let me do?+

Certified coaches gain the right to practise under the Performance Capability name at their certified level, with access to the associated materials, methodology, and coach network.

Do I have to complete TR1 before TR2 or TR3?+

Yes. The levels build in sequence — each domain of the Trisphereon is trained and certified on top of the one before it. Each level is its own twelve-month journey, so progressing from TR1 through TR3 is a three-year path in total.

Do I need to be referred to apply?+

No. Referral is common and welcomed, but unreferred applications are reviewed and assessed on merit in exactly the same way.

What if my application isn't accepted, or I can't attend after acceptance?+

Not every application is accepted — this is by design. Eligibility, deferral, and refund terms are confirmed in writing at the point of acceptance.
